Barefoot at Callala Beach – sleeps 4

Couldn't ask for more. A very serene and quiet location allowing us a completely tranquil break from our hectic life. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean, but what was most noticeable was the thoughtful touches in many ways. Anything you could ever need was provided, even the small kitchen items. The operating instructions and manual including things to do and places to eat was very comprehensive. We loved every minute of our stay and in fact extended our stay 1 additional night (would've extended more if it were possible). A very beautiful part of the world with the perfect property to host us whilst in Jervis Bay.

The perfect retreat We felt right at home when we entered the house for the first time. Everything was so lovely decorated, beautifully scented and the views from the rooms jawdropping. Where else would you have a private beach access and can listen and view the waves right from your bed? Our 10-day stay was most wonderful and Jen and Steve were absolutely accomodating literally aswering in minutes to our requests. Everyhing was there and ready to be used: a full-fledged kitchen with five gas burners, fridge, toaster, wok, outside BBQ and much more. We were especially happy about the washing machine and the complimentary Netflix account that we used during some of the rainy evenings. On sunny days we streamed our favorite music via the easy-to-use Harman Kardon sound system and enjoyed our meals on the terrace. The beach is beautiful and seems endless giving hours of strolling time. There are clams and various kinds of sea snails. If you keep a close look at the patterns in the wet sand you will even be able to dig out a starfish. We do not have a pet, but those of you bringing a dog will certainly also have a great time with it at the beach, since dogs are allowed on parts of it. Still people are very sensible and even as a non-dog lover you will not be affected. An especially delightful feature was the warm outdoor shower which was a pleasure when coming back from a bath in the waves. We definitely will come back on one of our future trips. This little cottage will keep forever a very special place in our hearts and memories.

Thankyou Jen and Steve.......We were looking for a place to holiday where we could relax and look at a peaceful beautiful view in a beautiful comfortable home and we got this and more at your home. You were wonderful at communicating all throughout our holiday and your home was amazing. The pictures do not do it justice as it was so cozy and comfortable for our family of four with our 2yr and 4 yr old kids (they loved the trampoline and the fishing rods too!). There was lots of grass to run around on and the beach was a 5 second walk away. We had all we would want with all the staples available in your home and even some more lovely touches such as kit kats and hot chocolate mixes! Our kids loved these! The linen on the beds was so gorgeous - I'd love to know the brand of the doona cover in the main bedroom as I would love one at our home! Lots of blankets and everything was so beautifully laid out. Very comfortable indeed. Plenty of crockery and cooking wares to use. Crockery was all gorgeous Royal Doulton and colour coordinated with everything in the house. All in lovely aqua colours. An elegant beach theme throughout the entire home. We are from Brisbane and wish your home was closer to us but we will make it back again one day and will spread the word to our friends to visit Jervis Bay and stay at your home as we have only wonderful things to say!!! It was lovely to see that you even had dog shampoo for those families who bring their loved pets along too! Thank you for making the last days of our holiday a special family one in a beautiful part of the world and in your beautiful home. Absolutely loved our stay here at Barefoot at Callala Beach. Its the ideal beach shack with all the amenities/mod-cons and modern styling to go with it! Woke up every morning lying in bed watching the waves and looking at the dolphins swim past! If we weren't out, we sat at the table at edge of the grass and sand with a bottle of wine (which they kindly gave us on arrival from a local winery) and took in the amazing view! Short drive to Husskisson for great restaurants (Wild Ginger) and great cafes (5 little pigs) with good coffee (sydney eastern suburbs good coffee!!). From Husskisson, its only 15min drive to Hyam Beach! If you driving down into Jervis Bay, Jen and Steve recommended the most beautiful restaurant in Berry, South on Albany - absolutely divine! We may or may not have order 6 doughnuts from the famous doughnut van 5m down the road from the restaurant afterwards (and may or may not have stop past for another 6 on the way back to sydney) Cant wait to escape sydney again and go back to Barefoot at Callala Beach again. We had the most amazing time! Thanks so much Jen and Steve for letting us stay at your stunning beach house!

This is a real find. The cottage is as described "Quintessential Australian Beach House". So rare to get what you pay for. The cottage is incredibly well designed with windows and doors in all the right places, allowing you easy access to all the outside areas. Living and kitchen areas well thought out, and there really is everything you could wish for. Linen, furnishing, decor, cutlery, glasses, absolutely everything very tasteful and of a good quality. Location could not be improved, right on the beach with a lovely long private garden back and front. All windows open on the view, so even at night you are well aware of the wonderful location and big sky. Best treat was outside hot shower for after swimming. We used it all the time, even early morning before we hit the beach. Our little doggie loved it, and was exhausted at night after beach runs, lizard chasing and bunny watching. Very thoughtful to leave out dog shampoo and canine food bowls. Great weekend, would have loved to stay longer.

All I can say is WOW! This place is stunning. From the moment we walked through the door we felt so relaxed. The house is in the best location and it's very quiet. Cleaner than most 5 star hotels I've stayed in and they have really thought of everything. It was the little touches that really made it special. Like the chocolates, bottle of wine and toys for the kids to play with. The house is small but works so well for it's size and you never feel cramped, even with all 4 of us in there. And waking up to see the dolphins swimming right in front of the house was just so special. Without a doubt this was the best holiday we have had as a family and will definitely be back.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay at Barefoot. The house is everything you imagine it to be and more. The setting on the beach is just like the Hamptons and Jen & Steve ensured we had everything we needed and more. We reluctantly packed up yesterday and toyed with the idea of staying an extra week! It is a beautiful part of the word and the house is stunning. Do yourself a favour and book Barefoot now. I'm already back in the office looking at the diary trying to work out when I get back! Barefoot is a little slice of heaven. We now know why anyone who has stayed at this place has fallen in love with it. The interior of this cute cottage matches its incredible setting. It was everything we could have asked for and more. One of the highlights has got to be lying in bed watching the sun rise over the bay. And if you're lucky like we were, you might even see dolphins swim pass your window. Thank you to Jen and Steve who thought of every little detail for the comfort of their guests. They certainly deserve their 'superhost' title. This was by far our favourite air bnb stay to date. We will definitively be back again.

The absolute beachfront location and view from living room/main bedroom/back garden across Jervis Bay was magic. The house is very well thought out with great amenities. Perfect stay for a couple or 2 adults with 2 small children. It also feels private from neighbouring houses with a lovely assortment of mature trees/garden. Callala Bay has a lovely local, relaxed feel. While it is a 30min drive to some of the main tourist locations of Jervis Bay (i.e. Hyams Beach), we did not mind. We were after a week's holiday that gave us serenity, nature, a magnificent vista and much needed r&r. We would both definitely consider a holiday at Steve & Jen's beach house again.

We had the most AMAZING time at Jen and Steve’s! It was the most beautiful house. So stylish, so clean, so beautiful. The private access to the beach was the best thing about this place. We brought our little Japanese Spitz and he had the time of his life! Jen and Steve provided every amenity we needed (and more), and check in was seamless. Thank you Jen and Steve, we will be back!

Barefoot beach house is an amazing place to stay. A stylish, warm and comfortable home right on the beautiful white sands of Callala Beach. The house seems to have come right out of the pages of a house magazine and from the moment you arrive you feel relaxed and at ease and the welcoming bottle of champagne is the perfect way to start your holiday. As well as the amazing view of Jervis Bay from every aspect you will be delighted by the sudden appearance of dolphins. Jen and Steve have created a wonderful experience for their guests at their beautiful beach house and I would recommend this lovely home to anyone who enjoys a touch of heaven on the beach.

This is the second time we’ve stayed here... we love it!! The location is sublime. Most mornings and afternoons we saw dolphins... the beach is stunning. Beautiful and mostly dog friendly (check for off lead times). The house itself is perfect.. great size, comfortable, and with that remarkable view! Kitchen appliances are excellent and it’s well appointed. Well be back!

We have just spent a very enjoyable four nights in Jen and Steve’s pad in front of the beach at Callala. We went down as a family of four (with one toddler and one dog). The place is intimately sized, which was perfect for us. It is extremely comfortable and very beach chic. The main bedroom and lounge have stunning views and you can hear waves crashing from each room. The view is amazing and the access to the beautiful beach through the dunes was perfect. Our dog was wrecked after so many days of roaming the yard and beach and our toddler was obsessed with paddling in the sea. We saw dolphins, which is always so emotionally satisfying. In the evening, if you’re in need, there’s a good sized TV and internet-capable Blu-Ray that links to Netflix etc. The area is pretty quiet. The homes on either side are rentals. There was a really nice family on one side who we saw a few times, but there’s no shortage of space. There’s an IGA about 8 minutes drive away which is decent, and a Woolies about 20 minutes away. Not much going on in the town itself, but that’s why you go isn’t it? We headed into local towns on a couple of days for lunch.

We really enjoyed our stay at Barefoot. The house is gorgeous, comfortable and beautifully styled. The hosts provide lots of things in the kitchen and bathroom you might need to save you having to bring them with you. The beds are comfortable and the main bedroom has a beautiful view across Jervis Bay. The house is on the smaller side so would suit a couple or a family with younger children. The hosts were very responsive in the lead up to our stay and answered all of our questions. I would definitely recommend Barefoot.

This is the fourth time we’ve stayed here and we absolutely love it. We couldn’t have chosen a worse weekend weather wise with torrential rain over all 3 days but the house was warm and cosy and we had a Netflix marathon. We will be back...on hopefully a sunny weekend

House and proximity to the beach was fantastic. Such a special place! Kitchen was very functional for allowing us to cook our meals. View from the bedroom was spectacular! Netflix included which was super cool! This beach house was amazing. Thanks for letting us enjoy this slice of paradise.

Barefoot at Callala Beach is a cosy beach getaway. The views of Jervis Bay from the cottage are amazing and the proximity to Callala Beach is unbelievable, it's virtually at your back door! Jen & Steve have provided everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Our little pooch had so much fun running along the beach and playing in the generous garden that surrounds the cottage. He did manage to get under the front fence but luckily the road is fairly quiet and he was fine. Thank you Jen & Steve for a memorable stay. Melina, Michael & Miles

Jen and Steve are nicest hosts, so easy to talk to, and their house is very welcoming, calm and cozy.. So blessed that the weather was beautiful throughout our stay so we saw 2 mornings of delightful sunrises, and the waves are calming as my daughter said :) We’ll definitely recommend their house to stay in and you would really appreciate it. Barefoot at Callala is a wonderful little beach cottage, everything you need in a compact and beautiful space! The location is incredible and the beach was just lovely! The property is now fully fenced so we had no concerns with our little dog running around either. Highlights were the sunrises on the beach, spotting the dolphins, sundowners on the deck and evening BBQs! We can't wait to visit again, thanks Jen and Steve!

Not the best weather when we visited Jervis Bay, however Jen and Steve’s lovely house did not disappoint. While it bucketed down outside, the house was always cosy and warm. Well done on wonderful accommodation! Hope to come back when the weather is warmer!!!

What a spot! Location cannot be beaten. You can hear the waves crash as you sleep. It’s a small 2 bedroom house but it’s so stylishly done and perfect for our family. Plenty of outdoor space and the beach literally at your doorstep. Very thoughtful touches and amenities - even dog shampoo!! Would love to come and stay again. Just perfect.

This property is AMAZING, location +++. We stayed a week and didn’t want to leave. So relaxing!! We cannot wait to stay again. The communication from Jen and Steve was very professional, highly recommend this property to anyone.

What an idyllic spot! We didn’t have great weather, but the view made it memorable regardless. The lovely thoughtful touches throughout the house make it feel like home. Will have to come back on a sunnier weekend to make the most of the location.

This was the most wonderful holiday - such a beautiful spot. The home was perfect for our family holiday and we spent so much time in the garden and on the beach which was seamless. Was easy with young kids and dog. In addition, the hosts were so wonderfully helpful. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful place, right in the beach. Perfect for our family with two kids under 6. The kids loved the open spaces and the front and backyard. Spacious master bedroom and very cosy kids room . The place was tidy, beautiful towels and sheets etc. kitchen was very well equipped and the fireplace is perfect for cold days. Highly recommend this place !

Gorgeous cottage, tastefully decorated. Sparkling clean with everything you need in the house. Spectacular waterfront view of the beach, the beach is a dream for walking and swimming. Lots of info about local cafes, restaurants, activities. Callala Bay shopping is close by for all necessities. We had a lovely time.

Jen & Steve’s place is absolutely amazing! That view and location. Wow, Wow, WOW! Jen & Steve’s place is everything that the pictures illustrate and with the beach, even more! Jen & Steve left some thoughtful touches (thank you for the wine:). The house was clean and it really felt like a home away from home, if not more with that amazing view. I can’t really fault this Air BnB. The bed in the main room was great- medium firmness which was fantastic for me. One of the best beds I’ve slept in, in an Air BnB and the sound of the waves crashing puts it in to #1 The only thing that I would say is that the beds in the second room are quite small. Thankfully my mum offered to stay in the second room because me being 5’ 11”, I wouldn’t have fit length wise comfortably in the single beds of the second room, so if you’re staying with more than 2 adults, it’s definitely something to be mindful about. 10/10. One of the best Air BnB’s I’ve stayed in! 13/10 Views!!

Wow, as per in the pictures, this place is amazingly located. Amenities are very thoughtful. Very clean, and beautiful. We were lucky, for its after Easter and the school holidays; we almost had the beach to ourselves. Jen was easily contactable and is fast to respond with helpful advice. Dear Jen & Steve, Thankyou for this amazing experience. This proposal was our first airbnb and it exceeded our expectations. Our fur-baby Indie had a blast, especially when we were visited by a beautiful fox. Indie was watching her closely from closed doors. We highly recommend, the pictures advertised to the real thing there's no doubt you and your family will be overwhelmed with excitement on how pretty the beach house is and what it has to offer. Magical! Beautiful home, spectacular location and everything you could need for a perfect getaway. Waking up to ocean views with the dolphins playing in the surf was a memory we’ll always cherish.

This is the 2nd time we are staying in one of Jen and Steve’s properties and it was amazing. Cute cottage with clean and renovated feel with a beautiful landscape and beach side atmosphere. Jen and Steve’s gorgeous beachside home was perfect for my daughter, husband and I to turn off our phones and soak in the nature. We cooked each meal, enjoyed Sunsets in the backyard and walked to the beach via the backyard steps each morning and late afternoon. We had the fireplace to keep us warm and enjoyed it all. It was wonderful!

We love this house. It’s so understated, just a little cottage on a large block meters from the water. The view is beautiful. The house is everything you want and need in an Airbnb. I’ve looked to book again but weekends are full for the rest of the year, so 2022 we will be back!
